I am an interdisciplinary artist who uses accessible materials as a way to break down the barriers between the art world and people. Art is about emotions; this is how I see my place in making art. I want to create a means for people to see that art can be made with everyday materials and that art is not just for the upper-class. Art should be for the people.

Art for me is about catharsis. Using  the human body as a medium to redefine my relationship to myself and to my health problems.

I create art that expresses emotion. In my work I explore themes of decay, identity, and ableism within our society.

I use abjection in my work, it comes from Julia Kristivia. It is the process of arriving at what you find disgusting and being repulsed by it.

I see decay and abjection as a way to explore the human body. With abjection, by using disgust I explore how people see the disabled body and how it is othered in our society.

In society people see something disgusting and turn away but we must engage with what we do not understand and make art.
