Breaking News! No, sorry not mommys "bag of waters" yet. Amelia lost her first tooth today!

Mommy had a birthday so we went to the coast and enjoyed some fun family time at the beach.

Okay, so I'm still a bit lazy about updating the web page. We have had a good summer and Amelia has started Kindergarten. Amelia's little sister is due around Thanksgiving time and we are getting the house ready for her arrival. Amelia is excited to see the bassinette and change table set up.

Yes it is true. We have updated our web page. We will try not to have such a long period of time between updateds in the future. We have good motivation to stay up to date now. Shortly after Thanksgiving we are expecting another baby :) Amelia is very excited and keeps talking about what she wants to do "when the baby comes out".

Okay, here goes. We have had the website down for several months and I am trying to play catchup now! I will try to go to May 2006 tonight.

Well, it's been a while, but the site is back up. Over the next few weeks we will work on posting all the pics we have taken since the last time we posted. In the mean time, you can look back on Amelia's pictures and reminisce. I know I spent about two hours today doing that very thing.

Amelia is now 3years old! It is hard to believe she has grown up so fast. Amelia loves to sing her ABC's and ride her new bicycle. She also loves her new princess chair and sits in it to watch her movies :-) Amelia also loves her new Dora hat and put it on first thing when we got home from church on Sunday :-)

We have been rather busy these last few months enjoying our new home and visiting with family and friends. We have 5 new pages assembled for your viewing pleasure to accomadate for the delay in posting :)

Seems like every other month is our new trend for posting pictures. Don't worry though, we have snapshots from Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas still for you to enjoy :-)

We have more pictures of Amelia as well as pictures of our new house :-) These last few months have been crazy with moving into a new house, Amelia being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and being admitted to the hospital for 3 solid days due to an irresponsible pharmacy distributing the wrong enzymes making her digestive problems worse. All said however we love our new place and are settling in and getting to know our neighbors more and more.

Thanks for being patient with our web site while Amelia and I went on vaction for a month to Idaho and then when we got back we all moved to our new home (okay it's 9 years old, but new to us) in San Antonio, Texas! We have a plethera of pictures for you. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do :-) The links dated 6-25-2004 through 8-14-2004 are all included in this update.

Amelia has been very busy. She has so much energy! We wish we could siphon some off for ourselves! Our bundle of energy is now offically 2 years old. We had a wonderful pool party and daddy slaved over the grill to cook yummy hamburgers and hot dogs then joined us in the pool to finish off a wonderful day.

Our little girl has been a busy bee. We finally agreed that Amelia needed a haircut. She was not pleased with the first place mommy took her and refused to sit on the stool. So in the end Amelia found a place she was more than happy to hold still for a haircut at :-) She was so enthralled watching WIGGLES that Amelia couldn't even smile for the camera. She can now open doors all by herself with a little concentration. Her vocabulary continues to grow with leaps and bounds. Amelia is saying several short sentances. The most words we have recognized strung together were in the car when she wanted more fruit snacks "Please, I want some more!"

Amelia has discovered the joy of discretely climbing up onto her changing table and distributing the baby wipes and changing pad all over the bedroom. Occasionally she tucks the wipes in neat little rows between her crib and the wall. We went to the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo yesterday and Amelia LOVED the petting zoo area. We went with Tamma Miles and her two children Evan and Aleea.

We went home to Idaho and visited family in February. We visited Grandpa Hansen in the nursing home, made cinnamon rolls with Grandma Paskett, juggled for Grandma and Grandpa Draper and helped Uncle Donald with his birthday cake.

Amelia is growing up and talking more and more everyday. She loves to wear any shoes she finds laying around regardless of size or shape. She has become rather proficient at wearing her mothers high heel Sunday shoes. We are starting a new semester of Little Gym and Amelia is as active as ever and still has no fear of trying new things and climbing anything she can get a hold of.

Christmas was tons of fun!!! Amelia was a blast to watch. She got excited about everything. We went to see the Trail of Lights downtown and Amelia ooohed and awed every little thing :-) We had a wonderful Christmas Eve party at Susan Bryson's and then a GREAT Christmas Day :-) Amelia loved all the presents she recieved.

We had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a great Christmas.

Amelia loves to wear shoes and clomp around in them. That's a girl for ya!!!She also likes to brush her teeth and doesn't think she needs any help from mommy. This last week two of her bottom molars made a big push and cut through a bit. Amelia showed a little interest in potty training for a bit but has decided she isn't ready just yet. She also is trying to decide if she likes dogs. Our friends, Michael and Courtney Garis, occasionally bring their factored blue merle border collie over to play. Ceir (pronounced Keer) is a really good dog and lets Amelia feed him. Even though Ceir is only 9 months old he is very patient with Amelia waving the doggie treats all over in front of him trying to decide if she is brave enough to let Ceir eat out of her hand or if she really wants to give it to him. If Amelia pulls the treat away, Ceir backs away and waits for her to offer it again.

Amelia is definately learning from example and expanding her world by exploring and being inquisitve. It is fun to watch her and realize that she is imitating something she has seen me do and is "talking" using the same phrases (at least the same pitch fluctuation) that I use when performing the function she is copying.

August was another month for family get togethers. We went to the Bright Reunion in Preston, Idaho where we discovered that Great Grandma Shumway's sister Aunt Venice has a great grandson named Cordon (not sure on the spelling) who is four days younger than Amelia. We also discovered that a good friend from church here in Austin, Texas (Steffanie Wright) is related to us in a round about way. Three or four generations back our progenators married brothers. Steffanie's husband Nolan says we are third cousins-in-law :-) Kinda fun to find that it really is a "small world after all."

July is the time for family reunions, and we had a few of them :-) Amelia greeted her extended family with smiles and hugs and giggles. No one was a stranger to her. Amelia was able to meet and play with her cousins who were born last year. SIX OF THEM TOTAL!!! We have a few good pictures of them all together. Daddy shared some homemade jam with Amelia and they went for a walk by the Snake River.

Walking is now old hat for our little Miss Wiggles. She has become quite the dare devil of late. She now scoots around and slides herself off of our guest bed feet first and kind of slides/falls the last few inches. She loves swimming in our little 1 1/2 foot kiddie pool. Her shoulders just barely clear the water most of the time, but when she is excited she will half run, half fall towards me. She doesn't get scared anymore when she goes under the water. I have to keep a close eye on her all the time. The other day we walked past the pool and she got mad that we didn't get in :-)

Amelia and Evan had a smashing Birthday Party with chocolate cake, water fights, good food and a little bit of pool diving! David fished Amelia out 2 times!!!

Amelia enjoyed going to the Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, TX May 31st. She exhibited no signs of stranger anxiety and loved the butterfly exhibit, the mud fairy sculptures, and the birds of prey show. We also have Amelia practicing some stunts for her Birthday party we are going to have Saturday with Evan Miles.

Exploring the world around her and getting into mischief are Amelia's goals for this next year :-) She has starting to be braver about taking a few steps on her own. Previously she would start walking without realizing and then the moment she realized what she was doing she carefully sat herself down and continued on her way on her hands and knees :-)

Amelia learns how to share her toys with Evan who is 4 days younger than her.

According to local rumors, it is a Texas tradition to take pictures of your child in a field of Blue Bonnet flowers. Blue Bonnet's are the state flower here in Texas.

As Amelia continues to grow, she is exploring new things and finding her way into interesting places :-)

Ah, eating and sleeping. These are the joys of life!

Amelia found out why mom is always telling her to sit down in the bathtub.

Also Amelia had her 9 month check up at the pediatricians. She is maintaining her growth curve and staying in the 25th% for weight, 3rd-5th% for height, and 50th% for head circumference. She weighs 17 lbs. 15.9 oz., is 25 1/2 inches long, and has a head circumference of 43 1/2 centimeters. Dr. Tache is very pleased with Amelia's health and progress. She says Ameila will be an early walker and to watch out! We will be chasing her all over.
