Amelia's News June 16, 2002Houston, the eagle has landed. Amelia is now home safe and sound with her parents. Safe? Sound? Well, she's home anyway. Cari and I have been loving it. We get to actually spend some good quality time with her. She is really being a little angel. Her first night home she slept for eight hours in one stretch. Cari was a little sore, but it was nice to get the sleep. Needless to say, the pediatrician said we should not let her sleep for that long. So Cari has been really good at waking up every four hours to feed Amelia. Sometimes Amelia wakes us up before that, but usually we have to get her up. Cari is feeling much better. Her stomach is getting flatter everyday. I have learned to change diapers and like it. (that was Cari typing) Really though, I have learned how to change diapers. I don't know what the mystery is. Or the big aversion guys seem to have to this. Sure it's not eating chips and watching TV, but it's not that bad. And once you do it a couple times it just takes a second. Besides the good will it creates between Cari and I far outways the kicking, and screaming, and peeing, and mustard poo, and screaming, and her kicking the bottle of rubbing alcohol over and, peeing more just as I get the first diaper off, and screaming, and kicking me through the changing table bars, and the screaming, and the kicking... On to the Pictures!!
*overheard* "Watch out for her kick. She can come right through the bars of the changing table and really let you have it! I've also seen her kick cut right through a bottle of rubbing alcohol and send that thing flying!!"
