Amelia's News June 10, 2002

Vital Statistics as of today

Name: Amelia Hansen
Weight: 7 pounds 1.6 ounces

Well, it's been a few days since I've been able to update. Our digital camera went on the fritz and we couldn't download the pictures to the computer. But, I got it fixed today and so I have some new pictures. Amelia is doing great. She is getting stronger and stronger everyday. If all goes well and she gains a little weight, she should be able to come home tomorrow, Tuesday June 11. We would love it if she could. Cari is getting very tired from having to run over to the hospital a number of times each day to feed her and such. We all are of the opinion Amelia could come home, but short of kidnapping our own kid, we'll just have to wait. Cari is getting better. Other than being very tired all the time, she is healing just great.

More Pictures!!

Grandma and Amelia
Here's a shot of baby and Grandma Draper.

Head IV
Here's a shot of Amelia with her IV in her head. It came out of her arm, so the next best vein to put it in was her head. Still cute and she's able to wear her shirt with both arms in the sleeves.

Quick, 50 cc of milk in the gaping maw, STAT!!
Here Amelia has been dressed up by Mom and Grandma Draper in a cute outfit. It also covers up her head IV which is nice. Cute stuff!! This is also a common look for Amelia, mouth open wide, looking for milk. She can really put away the milk. I think she secretly gets up and runs laps around the nursery though cause she keeps losing weight.

Cute Mom, Cute baby.
More precious moments with Mom.

Baby
Don't be fooled by her eyes. I think she's secretly plotting to lead a revolt with the other babies in the ICU to take over and demand more milk and the release of her captive brothers and sisters at Seton Northwest Medical Center. (Dad is tired and should no longer be typing... *sound of face hitting the keyboard*)
